I mostly use Goodreads as a reader. I love talking books, cracking jokes (some say too many), and trying to invoke The Once And Future King all the time always. As a moderator, I am unaffiliated with Amazon and I absolutely will not and cannot take requests to make any books club reads. I do not tend to read books sent to me by strangers, and am much more likely to seek out books by people who are interesting in group conversations.

Because I am also an author, I do NOT send friend requests. It is not because I don't like you, I do, really. You're like if ice cream and rainbows had puppies, and I would gladly accept your request! Please note that following a request with a marketing request for your book will cause me to unfriend you. That's awesome, good luck!

I'm not sure I have much advice to give! I'm not really an expert myself. Writing is just about getting the words down and then editing relentlessly. Every page I write gets minimum a dozen read-throughs by my own eyes before anyone else sees them. I guess my biggest piece of advice is when you think you're happy with the way something sounds, read it out loud. You'll find a lot of little mistakes or areas that are confusing when you say it to yourself. Otherwise, write and don't stop!(less)

I am trying to read twenty books by authors I've somehow missed (*cough cough* all that time in school *cough*) so I have a bunch of urban fantasy people keep telling me I'd like and a couple runaway success books, especially in science fiction up next. I am very organized. You can look on my To Read shelf and find the next 20 books I intend to read, provided the library has my back. I love buddy reads! Let's team up.

I also hope to be reading "Just A Taste," a short story about Summer and Lia as they get marooned in the Frozen North where thar be dragons, and something else much more problematic for them.(less)

Be Punk AF

In my first year of law school, one professor paced the front of class, waiting for news about whether there was a stay of execution for a man sentenced to death.

“Let this be a lesson,” he said as the tension left his body upon hearing that the stay had been granted, “that what we do here has very real consequences.”

That same term, in another course, we discussed a real event where people’s loved
