That being said, I will occasionally get deeply invested in the romance in certain shows (I don't think I've ever been invested in a book romance, except perhaps my own), such as those in Tora!Dora!, Fruits Basket, and, oddly, Parks and Rec. I would have to say my favorite couple, currently, is Hatchiken and Mikage from Silver Spoon, by Hiromu Arakawa.(less)

Aside from tackling its extremely difficult subject matter well, this book was also wonderfully paced and structured. Told in a non-linear fashion-- going from before Rosalie's death to months later, to just after it, and so on-- Hart still manages t ...more

I was intrigued by the cover and back-of-the-book blurb, and was not disappointed. This book had great characters, exciting twists and turns, and an ending I didn't see coming. Plus, it was written in third person from six different viewpoint charact ...more

What I wanted: a cool assassin contest.
What I got: a Mary-Sue who wears lots of pretty dresses and kills not one person in the entire book.

I love how it's told through letters, news stories, and diary entries. So cool!

“Regardless, the lesson I learned that day was this: tea is more than the plant it comes from. Are these 'false' teas any different from the teas of the camellia bush? If you soak them in water, will they not steep? I think tea is what you make of it, and this, there is no such thing as a false tea.”
