Hyrum lives in the Northwestern United States with his wife and four children and works as an engineer for a semiconductor manufacturer. He sprang from the desert of Utah to a very large family. After graduating from the University of Utah with a B.S. in chemistry, he acquired an advanced degree in chemical engineering from Oregon State University where he fell in love with the Northwest and has stayed ever since.

No matt…moreSo, I've always liked to write stories. I had finished a few short stories and started several novels which are what I really wanted to write. No matter how much work and effort I put into writing a novel, however, I always ran into some mysterious creative block. I just lost interest in every story. They felt empty, devoid of meaning. Then I discovered the truth about my religion, abandoned it, and entered the real world.
Once I left religion, my writing motivation just fell into place. I chose to write the theme that I actually experienced, leaving my metaphorical, religion-based home, and wrote it into a novel called "Silent Subversion I". It's filled with ideas and theories that interest me. That's what keeps me writing.(less)

I especially liked how the author tried to show civilization happier in a slowed down state and with less tech. She moved back and forth in time a little too often for my taste, but an overall enjoyable read.
