Tarryl Janik has a B.A. in religious studies and anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a M.S. in cultural anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His fieldwork is in Paramakatoi Guyana South America. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D in cultural anthropology at UWM. And horror fans get it, which is why I love horror and the horror genre. I'm not out to write the next epic so called, I'm just out to make the reader feel something uncomfortable that they can reflect on, something in-between repulsion and attraction. I try different things, I play with popular culture, and my work is also very much a commentary on it as well. Everything I do as an artist/writer is done with a purpose behind it. Some things work and some things don't, but creativity is what drives me. Even the cover to "Godforsaken" is important, it is a homage to the 1955 film "The Night of the Hunter." (less)
