Excited and thrilled at this new to me style of note-taking. You mentioned in the presentation that you were using a piece of software a college make to be used as a Zettelkasten. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it works for me and I am not aware of any other software which resembles Luhmann's system as close as this one. Having said that, I feel there is a lot of interesting tinkering going on at the moment and it's worth keeping an eye open for new solutions. (less)

I appreciate what you have written regarding smart notes. It gives voice to so many aspects of note taking that I support. I realize tools can foster an endless conversation but there are other free and modestly priced tools you may also want to consider. BibDesk is a very good free reference manager & "The Archive (http://zettelkasten.de/the-archive/) is a nice implementation of the Zettelkasten Method -20.00 USD)?

I very much hope that in increasing interest in the Zettelkasten-method will lead to a healthy competition on new software (ideally free, open-source, platform independent and extremely simple).
