This WIP was supposed to be a quick, easy project, but family medical drama has made it feel more like running a marathon while carrying an anchor. Now that the drama has found a happy ending, my goal is to wrap up this book by the end of August.(less)

Heartwarming and sincere.

This was truly a phenomenal volume. So much was resolved in Mao's life. The story was carefully crafted with perfect pacing and delightful moments of connection and closure. Mao is permanently home now with her father's new

A warm feeling of nostalgia permeates this entire volume.

This was another excellent volume in this series. The Christmas episode was my favorite, with the New Years Day episode being a close second. I enjoyed the subtle things like the characters' f

Douglas Cootey is 61% done with Standing for Something: What a profoundly impactful chapter. No other message has resonated with me so completely as much as the need for greater optimism. I used to joke with friends that I was a “cynical optimist”, but looking back now, the joke was on me. Cynicism haunts me and clouds my judgement. It influences my depression and limits my confidence. If there is one aspect of myself that needs changing, it is that I am too cynical.

Delightful tale. I especially liked how the children made bad decisions—wickedly bad decisions in the case of Seth. Yet they paid the cost for those decisions. Although the story lacked artful depth, I found it wonderful escapism—like pulp fiction fo ...more

A solid end to a sweet series.

Tying up all loose ends in one volume became a bit much for me—maybe just a bit too cloying and maudlin. I would have preferred another volume to pace out the resolutions better. However, the resolution of the sisters,
