Gerard O'Neill is a novelist living with his family in Sydney, Australia, but he originally hails from the deep south of New Zealand. He worked too long in the suffocating confines of the academy, explaining his need to escape to the great outdoors as often as possible. He speaks English reasonably well, and Japanese...somewhat badly. He enjoys Kendo.

He can often find the time to read a good book, particularly if science fiction. He does read a wide range of books both non-fiction and fiction. He likes to keep up with new developments in science and technology. He also enjoys reading history, and almost anything about the Russian revolution will grab his attention.

Well, I would be compelled to suggest my latest book due to be published January 10th 2019. Atoma and the Blockchain Game is the first of a new five book series. It's written for teens and young adults, but it will also make an enjoyable read for anyone who enjoys science fiction and coming of age tales. Book 2 will be out in February 2019.(less)

Yet, this technology is changing the world right now in ways most could never imagine. It's a train on the rail track we are tied to without knowing it. There are many questions to ask. Not only the 'what' kind of questions, but also the how, why, where, and who kind.

I wanted to write a book especially for those who will be forefront in this brave new world. Why not make it a series exploring the brain exploding scenarios that only SF can possibly do justice? That's how my new Atoma series for teens and young adults came to be.

It has humor and romance, as well as action and adventure, and not to forget mystery and suspense. The whole enchilada. A science fiction tale set in the near future especially written for teen and YA, but also for those who are a little older.

See you there.(less)

“You know what I mean.” Storm was surprised by the intensity of his friend’s gaze and he laughed. “C’mon, Matt.” “If you get called out by any security, just do what they say. Don’t be a hero.” “Are you trying to fill in for my old man?” Storm asked him.”
Gerard O'Neill, May Day

“Tindale gazed at the rider with a frozen smile. He was doing his level best to hide his contempt for the man. Fassbinder and his team had not given away a single clue. The degree of secrecy that enveloped the mission was incredible. The fact that Naval Command decided to keep him in the dark was simply galling.”
