Matia ben Ephraim was homeschooled in a small town in southern Ontario as the youngest of four children. Ever since she started reading as a three-year-old, she's been an enthusiast of the enchanting world of words and the stories they can tell. She self-published her first novel, The Wizard of Kharathad, when she was 17, then its prequel when she was 18. ...more

That is, I work on later scenes, if the ideas for them come more easily. But there are many methods of confronting the great wordless void; you can just plow on through it anyway in writing, and edit it later. Rereading what I already wrote up to that point sometimes helps get me thinking along the same lines. Or trying to figure out the problem when you're not actually staring at it, like while you're doing the dishes or as you're going to sleep. You can go over several different possible scenarios in your head until you find one that works the best. And besides which, boredom is in the eye of the beholder. People always want something to make them interested, but they seem to forget that being interested can be a conscious choice. Denae Christine Hi, back, homeschooled authoress!

I mostly listen to audiobooks (on doublespeed). That way I can multi-task (walk, cook, bike, drive, etc.). That's the only way I can get through so many books.

I'm jealous you've been reading since age 3. :)
