Julie Elise Landry grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and spent the beginning of her adult life in Monroe, Louisiana. Since gaining unfettered access to a computer, Julie has done nearly everything that English majors do: experimenting with terrible adolescent poetry, amateur fan fiction, and novellas about semi-sentient cats, before making a decent living as a writer, editor, tutor, teacher, reporter, and communications professional. Though she has never been a lawyer, she did work in a law office once.

She adores bourbon, musicals, and violent horror movies, and she tends to oscillate between dreamy silence and involuntary loudness.
