Michele Israel Harper spends her days as an acquisitions editor for L2L2 Publishing and her nights spinning her own tales. Sleep? Sometimes…

She has her Bachelor of Arts in history, is slightly obsessed with all things French—including Jeanne d’Arc and La Belle et la Bête—and loves curling up with a good book more than just about anything else.

Author of Wisdom & Folly: Sisters, Zombie Takeover, Beast Hunter, Kill the Beast and the soon-to-be-released Silence the Siren, Michele prays her involvement in writing, editing, and publishing will touch many lives in the years to come.

When you read a book (and I adore reading books), the story wends its way in whatever direction the author takes it. You have no control. But when you write a story, you can create anything your heart desires! (Unless your characters sabotage your--I mean, their--story and take it wherever they want it to go. Which happens frequently. Bossy little things...) ;)(less)

Ghostly Vendetta Release Day!

It’s release day for my new book, Ghostly Vendetta!

(Cue all the flailing and dancing and squealing.)

I can’t tell you how excited I am to have another book in the Candace Marshall Chronicles out in the world.

Now, this is actually a prequel to Zombie Takeover, which I wrote while drafting Vampire Feud, the book after Zombie Takeover.

(Have I made things complicated yet? Lol!)

Can I say how much I loved this superhero book? The sweet romance was on point (happy sigh), the main villain perfectly mysterious (and had me guessing who it was until the reveal), and the action worth every moment (freaking love superheroes). I esp ...more

Fire Dancer by Catherine Jones Payne
"Slow burn plot, with a blazing climax

This book is the first in a series, and you can tell that most of it's purpose is to set up the characters and world building for future books. But all of that set up is done really well.

“Nor was I following how someone who seemed so sweet and genteel at Bible study was acting like someone who’d contracted mad cow disease. Or maybe politics made people act slightly demon-possessed.”
Christy Barritt, Cunning Attractions

Catherine Jones Payne
“I expect that someday you’ll have to deal with a little girl just as defiant as you were. But you’ll be glad she defies you, in spite of your frustrations, because you’ll know she has the courage to take on the world if she ever has to.”
Catherine Jones Payne, Breakwater

Laura VanArendonk Baugh
“Yes, the Jews go through a lot of sheep.” “What do you mean?” Gushnasaph asked. “They sacrifice two lambs each day in the Temple in Jerusalem, and then every household sacrifices lambs during their Pesach in the spring. Bet Lahem is good sheep country and close to the city, so the Temple flocks are kept here. This is where the sacrificial lambs are born.”

“Just as there is a destination far beyond this one, there will be a time far beyond this one when there won’t be any pain, just the memory of it. As I try to hold that in my mind, I think”
