Thane is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute with a degree in psychology and a minor in English. Following college, Thane married his high school sweetheart Sarah and started his career as a cavalryman in the United States Army. Over the course of his career, he has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan where he was personally engaged in ground combat. His service has thus far earned him two Bronze Stars and numerous other awards and decorations.

Relying on his background in psychology, military experience, and Christian faith, Thane writes novels that seek to explore human nature under dire circumstances, the reality of pain and suffering, and the resilience of individuals to accomplish superhuman feats. Thane’s hopes are that as

Don't worry about people judging your work, critics, or embarrassment; at the end of the day, you are telling a story that means something to you, and you'll grow as a writer and a person as a result. I love listening to classical music - there are so many stories you can dream up in your head while you listen. The other thing I suggest is to not force it. Timelines and goals hamper creativity because it becomes a task rather than a hobby. If you don't know where to go next, relax, do some reading in a different genre, and take a break!(less)

Katie serving her country

Meet Katie Stanley. At five feet, three inches tall, the petite blonde sitting on the keyboard in the corner probably doesn’t fit your stereotype for a warrior. In fact, if you saw her sipping a coffee and reading through a textbook you might mistake her for your typical college student. But that’s where you’d go wrong. Katie isn’t just a writer. She’s a w

Really easy book to understand the implications of the physics of Einstein. I’m a layman but found each chapter fascinating. There’s a good bit of math as he proves his points but you can skip the math and just read the text to get the main ideas.

I'm a fan of this book. Like most other recent leadership books the focus is on inclusion and understanding where other people are coming from. That seems to be a cultural trend. I'd argue, however, this book is more about the power of narrative vs. ...more

First of all, I agree 100% with Sinek in " Read more of this review »

Maybe its because the Army crams leadership down my throat every chance it gets... but this book just isn't that groundbreaking or fascinating. That said, it reads easily and contains plenty of tidbits... just not unique ones.
