Hi I'm M.S. Murray, (Michelle) I live in the West of Scotland. I'm a stay at home mum to two crazy children, a dog that thinks he's a person, a cat that thinks she is Master of the house, and a dwarf hamster that chases the cat. My poor husband has to live with us all in our mad house!!
I started writing in my spare time, as a hobby after I discovered my love for reading a few years ago, (Reading is an addiction I refuse to get help for, Seriously!!).
I finally decided I wanted to do writing as a full-time gig.
So here I am, taking a leap of faith that you will enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

It sounds simple, but believe me I know it's not. If you've got an idea write it down. Don't feel pressured to write everyday though, just write when you can. It can take a month or ten years to write a book so don't feel like there's a rush to have it completed. I started off writing in my spare time as a hobby. In a year I had four chapters worth of story. Now I can write four chapters in one day. I don't do that everyday though, but since I dedicated my time as a full time author I've got more time to write. So my advice is just write, anywhere, anytime!!(less)

I tend to write more than one book at a time, so if I get a block, I start on another project. Taking a short break sometimes helps. Sitting down and listening to music helps clear my mind too, it helps me get back my flow. I really don't think I have a right way or wrong way to overcome writers block and I've never gotten to a point where I couldn't write anything for an extended period of time. It may happen one day when I cant write for weeks but for now my blocks are easily fixed. (less)

Still no further forward, but...

In my last blog post I talked about marketing and generally trying to get my name out there.
I'm still finding it really hard especially when I'm trying to juggle everything else on to top of it.
Marketing is very time consuming and can cause despair in certain authors *clears throat*.

BUT...I have found that Twitter has been easier to market with. Now my book hasn't been released yet so I'm not g... Read more of this blog post »
