Here's a little gem from Our Wide Margins, book 3 that I'd like to share with you today.

Confession of a shape shifter

The time has come to show you our territory I’ve laid out
between the freeway and the logging grade,
but the moon makes my eyes run, my neck swell.
Black flies pester me and you have vanished again.
There is little left other than the usual snorting
and to polish my horns against the slash.
