Hi,
Just seen the question, as I'm not regularly on goodreads.
This is Book-3 of a trilogy, but is also No.3 in Chronicles of a Stolen World - which will end in Book-18! It might be a good idea to get in from No.1.

I think the question almost demands an answer that is off-the-cuff – Bonnie and Clyde!
But, for me the concept of couple is the struggle towards becoming a couple. Otherwise boring, unremarkable and forgettable. There are very few that make the cut.
It is no wild ride in the wild west, but Pip and Estella in Great Expectations have proven overall unforgettable. What a study in character development! What a struggle to become a couple.
In fact, their story practically defies synopsis, because condensation is an injustice to a remarkable study in sparring and fencing, always wondering, will it be or not be, and where is it all going to end up? With them, it is neither external forces (say a horde of Mongols) nor other manufactured calamity (say an earthquake or fire), but it is always two people – the couple themselves.
There are many other great couples in literature, but it is rare for their stories to be non-action based. In Great Expectations, Charles Dickens does it over an extended time frame, in an otherwise empty place, and in close to solitary confinement.
Oh, yes, Arwen and Aragorn will never cease to amaze.
