My background includes editing, writing for dignitaries, and owner of an online antique doll shop which I still operate. I wrote PAGES IN THE WIND, while working full time. I felt driven to write this book to explore how trauma and abuse affects self esteem. Although a work of fiction, I hope that my reader finds a thought, a spoken word, an incident that touches a chord and opens an inner dialogue.

Brooklyn Bitters Kate A Difficult Truth

Brooklyn Bitters is a different coming of age story.  It covers the two year span of a woman facing middle age. Good read. The woman went through a lot and seemed to last a lifetime, though it didn’t. She was fortunate to have a strong support system. I couldn’t help think about all the mental patients that were not so lucky.

I sit on the couch, my tote bag around my elbow, wishing I'd remembered to buy batteries for the flash light and gas for the car. An orange glow peeks through the crack in the curtain as the neighbors whizz by on their way to the shelter.

The protagonist explores her own decaying marriage in a fresh and interesting way. I love psychological meanderings so this book touched a chord for me. What came across for me was a hunger to understand love and how it relates to the passing of time ...more
