Update 7/1/2017 It never ceases to amaze me how my industry works. I've been a professional writer now for going on 18 years and the roundabout way things happen is always new, weird and in the end pretty bizarre.

My novel The Geek has had a long and strange life. Originally it was developed as a television series, going to pilot script twice

What I'll do is break out one of the little lego sets and build exactly whats on the box or in the instructions.

Then I toss the box and instructions away, rip apart what I've built and then just build something random. Nine times out of ten it really works.

I will also play video games, open world games are the best for writers block, the key is to not actually play the game but just wander around and get into trouble.

When I'm really desperate I hit the heavy bag or take a walk, but that's a last resort as it never works as well for me as the first two.(less)

Just a quick update but more to come.

Hey All,

So it’s been a long time since I updated and I apologize for that, but I have just been absolutely swamped with work.

However, this will start a series of updates on the blog that will probably include some micro-stories and other things as well as some new podcast episodes.

And speaking of which, today there’s a new podcast up over on podbean (on iTunes tomorrow). I sit down with one...

The Geek by Jonathan Latt
"This is a great fast-paced read. A pulp novel with a geeky twist. If you like films like "John Wick", then this book is for you. It's very well written, and as a reader, while you never really know where it's going (especially towards the end), I..." Read more of this review »

Well I just finished this book a couple of hours ago so I'm still hopped up on adrenaline.

Deek pretty much grabbed me from the first page with his style. I'm not one for overly descriptive writing and Deek is really good at using description to enhan

I always though I was familiar with Lovecraft but after reading this I realized I'd only scratched the surface with the few stories I'd read.

When you take into consideration how much of a breakthrough his stories were and how they've affected basical

Jane Lehrer I read The Geek and was intrigued by the international mayhem that radiates from the pages of this novel. The description of each location around the world made me think Jonathan knows each place intimately. The characters in The Geek are deliciously disturbing and the events made me sit up and take notice. I loved the ending.
