It will detail my anxiety ridden pregnancy, my bout and fight with postpartum depression, and the experiences I had from having Preeclampsia, and going through NICU all over again. Preeclampsia is sucks, and the diagnosis during the second pregnancy nearly undid me. This is me, fighting back with words and hope for all the mamas who may be afraid to try again because of their first experience with Preeclampsia. I'm still processing, and still have nightmares but Preeclampsia can SUCK it, because this survivor is done and fighting back. (less)

But I can see where a lot of us stray, and get disillusioned in being a Christian. I journaled my hypocrisy. I cried over being pulled in two. On the one hand, I was in college, and wanted the college experience, and I was also your typical 20 yr old…I didn’t want to be an outcast, especially by my friends. I also didn’t know what I wanted to be, or who I was. I started to chronicle my bargaining, and pleading with a God that I questioned. My words became my conviction. The pages began to fill with my lack of fervor in my faith, the consequences and support of friendships…..somehow, I managed to write the basis for Love, Defined. In my ramblings, I shaped Alex, one of the main characters.
She was a mix of the old me, questioning about faith, and devotion in our actions, but I wish I was as strong in her stance. She was the person I simultaneously wanted to be, and someone I wanted to shake.(less)

In exactly one week, I will be 35! I don't know if that's considered middle age.... don't huff, I seriously don't know!

I had an anxiety attack last night when it hit me that people will be reading my words. These words were written with tears and desperation, and I thought what if someone I know reads them? Would I still be able to look them in the eyes?

And then I remember a quote a saw on Twit... Read more of this blog post »

This pains me to say but this may be my least favorite of all Penny Reid's books. I had no problem relating to Sienna Diaz, as her character was pure fun right from the beginning. With Reid writing as Simone Payton, it didn't sound quite right to me. ...more
