A lifelong Los Angeles resident who loves Thriller movies and learning about History. In between working in HR Recruiting, hanging with her husband and daughter, and being active in Top Ladies of Distinction which is a non-profit humanitarian organization, I have found the time to write my first book which is a true life story based on real events that happen in my life. My mother and I faced devastating situations and not only fought to hold on to each other through poverty, discrimination, physical disabilities, death, but also to stand strong against the opposition that threatened to make us feel small and invisible...former NBA Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

My first book, Stand For Something or Stand For Nothing has already received ex

Stand For Something or Stand For Nothing (Biographies & Memoirs)
2 chapters   —   updated Aug 14, 2015 11:36PM
Description: This book is based on my mother and I taking a stand against discrimination and hate for being African-American. We stood up and fought against one of the richest men in the world...former NBA Clippers owner Donald Sterling. My mother was a tenant at one of his properties called the Ardmore Apartments in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, CA. This book also covers our life story which involves courage, sadness, tears, pain, strength, dignity, and overcoming life obstacles. I hope this book will encourage everyone especially women of color, young teens that are growing up in harsh environments, and anyone that just need to know that they are not alone in their struggle to keep fighting and never listen to people who want to belittle you, put you down, and think you won't become something in life. I am a real life product that you can achieve whatever you want if you are willing to keep getting up when other's want to keep pushing you down! I hope you read my book and get empowered. I hope you share our story with someone who needs some encouragement in life. I hope you enjoy our story and tell friends and family. My mother passed away over 12 years ago and I miss her a lot but I know she wants me to share our story with you. I look forward to getting feedback and hearing your thoughts our story!

“Just because you don't know the exact country or tribe that your ancestors descended from, doesn't mean they aren't apart of your ethnic make-up. Black history didn't begin in slavery, we have a beautiful royal dynasty that began around 830 CE (CE is the correct term to use, most people know this as AD). My visits to Nigeria gave me a sense of pride to be connected to such a rich history that will never be taken away from me.-part of an excerpt from my second book, Ebony Jones”

“Even in the face of insurmountable circumstances; proving that it doesn't really matter who you are or where you come from...Only that you continue to stand!”

“Some people care too much. I think it's called love.”
A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

“I know for sure that what we dwell on is who we become—as a woman thinks, so she is. If we absorb hour upon hour of images and messages that don’t reflect our magnificence, it’s no wonder we walk around feeling drained of our life force. If we tune in to dozens of acts of brutality every week, it shouldn’t surprise us that our children see violence as an acceptable way to resolve conflict.”
Oprah Winfrey, What I Know For Sure

“Author Neale Donald Walsch says, “So long as you’re still worried about what others think of you, you are owned by them. Only when you require no approval from outside yourself can you own yourself.”
Oprah Winfrey, What I Know For Sure

“The word 'friend' has become so utterly void of meaning in a world governed by social media. How can anyone truly claim to have eleven hundred friends ? In my book that would involve making time to meet at least three of them every day of the year.”

Ebony Jones-Kuye Thank you to all the 22 people that have given my book a positive book review!

Ebony Jones-Kuye I appreciate all the support of people buying my book and leaving wonderful reviews. I have decided that this will be my first and last book. Over 2,000 have gotten this book via Kindle or paperback and that is wonderful but sales have been slow this week and I just made the decision to not write anymore. My book will still be on Amazon, Createspace, and Barnes & Noble.
