I am currently finishing up the editing for 'The Companion', the first book in a new dystopian series, 'Electric Sheep'.

I have also been working on editing another book that has not yet been released, 'Five for the Road' (watch for it!) by T. Johnson, a middle grade fantasy. So far, it seems that this book might have a little bit of something for everyone.

On the less literary side, I'm also desperately behind on writing my on-going reviews, and read like crazy; review college papers for the grammatically challenged; am a USAR TPU (google it); am raising an eclectic two-year-old; and fighting cancer.

Busy only begins to describe it!(less)

The intoxicating mix of stories from many different genres mashing about in my head are bound to run into each other from time to time.

I also travel for work, and with a four-hour commute, I have alot of time to think, too. This is where my stories get their body, playing What If? with my windshield (also a great tool for Writer's Block).

But the biggest inspiration comes when I sit down at the coffee-shop - with my writing buddy, or alone - tune in to whatever is playing over the hi-fi, and let the story go...(less)

“Companions were not allowed to lie. I don’t know why. I had tried a few times when I was young to get Benjamin to lie, and he never could. As we got older, I tried experiments, attempting to find a way for him to lie. Lies of omission, white lies, whoppers. Nothing. He couldn’t lie. My father told me that they were programmed that way. He seemed kind of proud about that.
And now, I hoped, that would save my life.”
Erma I Talamante

“Love me, hate me, see if I care.”

“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”
Joseph Campbell

“If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it's not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That's why it's your path.”
Joseph Campbell

“Myths are public dreams, dreams are private myths.”
Joseph Campbell

“Sit in a room and read--and read and read. And read the right books by the right people. Your mind is brought onto that level, and you have a nice, mild, slow-burning rapture all the time.”
Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth

No, I'm sorry, I don't at this time. (I had a bad experience back in the days of MySpace that left me wary.)

That may change, and I do, I will share the links!

Erma Talamante #Thinkitup

So overdue on this update, but had a great time in L.A. at the Think It Up event - seen so many celebs, met so many people, and walked the Red Carpet, just like a celeb, myself! (I would post a photo, but not sure how.)

So many people have been touched by a teacher, and I've had my teaching days, that I can't help encouraging everyone to take a look and #Thinkitup:

Erma Talamante Just met George R.R. Martin at Bubonicon 47 - and had him start reciting poetry at me. To my embarrassment, I started blushing, since I was only there to make sure my honey didn't try to get my daughter signed.

I never know what to do in these situations!

Erma Talamante Hey everyone - I'm looking for some help finding a book...

It was a dark, hardbound, clothlike covered volume from early 1900's titled "Zorra" in embossed goldleaf.

It was about a little female fox, found under a porch in the woods, and her adventures.

I cannot find any information about this anywhere, it was a favorite of one of my younger brothers while growing up that got lost in the numerous moves over the years.

Anyone know about or have seen this before? More information on this would be awesome! I would love to replace the copy...

Beth Congrats on your reading challenge! Wish I was close to completing mine! LOL
