My name is Oliver Brackenbury. I’m a screenwriter & author. I grew up around the corner from a five story deep cold war bunker, as one does, and can now be found living not far from a popular 1,815.4 ft tower in Toronto.

My first novel, JUNKYARD LEOPARD, was released through the Bad Day Books imprint of Assent Publishing. The book trailer and more can be found at www.junkyardleopard.com

I’ve just brought my second novel, OF DICE AND MEN, to term, and am independently developing other projects for page and screen.

Force myself answer questions about the story.

If the first question is too hard, I break it down to a simpler one, and keep doing that until it's something I can handle. If my answer is "stupid" then that's fine, I just write that down and keep writing answers until I get something I like, even if it's surrounded by cliché and weapons-grade drivel. (less)

As tends to be the case with these collections, the pure Howard stories are best. That said, De Camp carries himself much better here than in some of the earlier volumes. There are no magical abstractions of good and evil arm-wrestling each other whi ...more

“I wonder if I could eat a child if I had the chance.'
'I doubt if I could cook one,' said Constance.”

“People truly engaged in life have messy houses.”

Ottessa Moshfegh
“You can see wealth in people no matter what they're wearing. It's in the cut of their chins, a certain gloss to the skin, a drag and pause to their responsiveness. When poor people hear a loud noise, they whip their heads around. Wealthy people finish their sentences, then just glance back.”
