You hope somebody else will hop on board the train, read what you've written, and take the ride with you.

The greatest reward when someone is reading something of yours is when they get to the end and say, "What happens next? I NEED to know!" Or, if they have a conversation with you about a character in one of your stories, and they speak about that character as if that character is a real person.

As far as knowing you've impacted or changed someone's life with a book or a story is something I haven't experienced yet. Hearing that would be the greatest overall reward. But it is early, and this book is just out the gate.

That means to me that I've done what I set out to do. (less)

Churn out the pages and work on your craft. That's all you can do. Writing makes a writer. If forty people reject your manuscript then that could mean the wrong forty people have seen it. It happened to me before I found a publisher who believed in my work. Maybe your subject matter isn't what's "trendy" among publishers at the moment. The trend will likely come back around again. ‘KATARINA THE KILLER’ CHARACTER OVERVIEW

I left many of you hanging in 2016, at the conclusion of The Incubus and The Others, book one.  It’s time to return to Ten Points, the 198-year-old former cotton plantation north of Monroe, Louisiana, that the Lanehart family, and its past generations, have called home.  There are some familiar faces, as well as some new ones, this time around (and not all of them will make it to book three). ...
