Patricia Loofbourrow was born in southern California and currently lives in Oklahoma. Learning to read at the age of three, she grew up on Heinlein, Bradbury, and Asimov, and found at an early age that she loved science.

Earning a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from Cal Poly Pomona then an MD from Rush University, Dr. Loofbourrow practiced family medicine for ten years before becoming a stay at home mom in 2000. After leaving medicine, Patricia Loofbourrow ran one of the first “ask a doctor” patient education websites from 2000-2004.

Like the other day I was at an event and this woman came up, read the blurb on the back, and literally began JUMPING up and down squealing - and said, "I have to have this!"

(this happens at least once at every event and I love it!)

The second best thing is when someone reads your work and really GETS it, even if they don't go crazy about it. They get what you're doing and it touched them or made them think or engaged them in some way. That is very cool.(less)

I’ve finished the first draft of The King of Hearts: Part 4 of the Red Dog Conspiracy. But completing a first draft is just the beginning.
