At 17, I had to choose between joining a convent or the Marines. The mother superior at my convent was a veteran and recommended I serve my country. Thank God for that advice because if you've read even one thing I've written, you know that #nunlife is not for me. I'm working on the sequel as we speak. My most optimistic projections are that I will have it out late next year, but we'll see if I can stay disciplined. I always post updates to my blog, so once I have a firm date, I will let everyone know. I'll be at Planet Comic Con in May and KC Comic Con in August, so if you know any nerd-oriented people, send them my way :)(less)

I was so interested in learning about the Saxon language and the times that I wondered what would happen if I, as a modern person, got dropped in there. I tend to plan out plots for a long time before I start writing, so I had lots of time to find inspiration for the characters.(less)

Reviews for Black Magic Prey

To help launch Black Magic's Vendetta (Book 3 of the Siren Song Series), I did a blog tour this week in conjunction with Damp Pebbles Tours. In addition to a lovely interview and book excerpt, I also got so many great reviews from these fantastic book bloggers in both the US and UK.
"...a great read that had me enthralled, glued to the book, and wasn't something I had ever read before!" said Da

“Coming from where we do, it’s a rough adjustment—living here.” He put a hesitant hand on her shoulder, his calluses scratching against the fabric of her dress. “It’s true what they say about life in the dark ages, you know: nasty, brutish, and short. You and I once took it for granted we would die as old people in our beds, but we have no such assurance now. I’ll help you how I can, Isabella; but I can’t guarantee that either of us will live even to see tomorrow. Life is worth fighting for, young lady. But don’t feel it is something you’re owed.”
Kristin McTiernan, Sunder of Time

“What I mean by an educated taste is someone who has the same tastes that I have.”
Edward Albee

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.”
William Arthur Ward

“Never let your sense of morals prevent you from doing what is right.”
Isaac Asimov, Foundation

“‎Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats.”
Voltaire

“Child, child, do you not see? For each of us comes a time when we must be more than what we are.”
Lloyd Alexander, The Black Cauldron

Kristin McTiernan It's been almost a year away and I've decided to come back to Goodreads. In my heart, I just want to talk about books, movies, and tv shows. So it occurs to me Goodreads is a better place to hang out than other sites.

Kristin McTiernan Lol, yeah this site has turned me into an addict! So many good books, so little time!

kateywatey I think I'll be robbing some titles from your reading list! :)
