Drea Damara was born and raised on a farm in North Central Illinois. She spent her youth working in the fields, taking care of the family's livestock, and going on adventures in the woods with her three sisters. With a family of seven (including Drea's parents and her invalid grandmother) in an old farmhouse with no air conditioning, one bathroom (and an outhouse), and one television, Drea spent much of her youth outdoors.

Hello Lauren,
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your honesty. I hate when errors distract from reading and regret that my book has done that for you and some others. I plan to publish a revision some time this year, in which I will adjust the story to deep point of view and fix the nasty errors such as the one you mentioned. This was my debut novel, so it has been a learning experience for me, hopefully one which will help me grow as a writer so that I can bring everyone solidly polished and entertaining stories.
I will have more publishing support and a larger budget for the revision and my next work. Feel free to send me any comments you like, as well. I will gladly welcome the criticism. Best wishes, Drea (less)

Princess Bride fans: New Romantic Adventure on NetGalley #BeyondFarwinWood

Farwin-Wood_NetGalleyIf you crave more of the fairy tales you grew up on, but perhaps with a sprinkle of alcohol, sarcasm, flaws, inner turmoil, and a dash of sexy time then, thank you! I'm not totally crazy for writing Beyond Farwin Wood, my upcoming novel that's currently on NetGalley.

“Of all the comforting objects in this world, few things are as reassuring and accepting as books.”
Drea Damara, The Weeping Books Of Blinney Lane

“She better be capable of achieving something of the greatness that a cure for cancer would give the world or as damned good of an assassin as he was. If she possessed none of that, she should at least be the kind of woman with both a personality and face that could make any man question his better judgment. There weren’t enough of those in the world, at least not in the world he knew.”
Drea Damara, Chasing Vengeance

“I opened a book and in I strode.
Now nobody can find me.
I've left my chair, my house, my road,
My town and my world behind me.
I'm wearing the cloak, I've slipped on the ring,
I've swallowed the magic potion.
I've fought with a dragon, dined with a king
And dived in a bottomless ocean.
I opened a book and made some friends.
I shared their tears and laughter
And followed their road with its bumps and bends
To the happily ever after.
I finished my book and out I came.
The cloak can no longer hide me.
My chair and my house are just the same,
But I have a book inside me.”
Julia Donaldson

“Books keep and reciprocate our secrets, dreams, regrets, and hopes better than any friend in the world.”
