Body and Bone Release Party
Fifty to sixty friends and family attended the BODY AND BONE release party on June 25, and we didn’t wrap until 2 a.m. As a thank you to guests, we gave away BODY AND BONE swag–hats, mugs and t-shirts emblazoned with main character Nessa Donati’s radio show logo, and/or her fictional employer, Altair Satellite Radio’s logo. We also gave away guitar pick earrings, which are a clue from the novel (see all giveaways below). Great party, great music, great friends, especially the Whittens, who came all the way from Pennsylvania to be part of the festivities.

What Happened to Petty’s Dogs
I’ve gotten this question so many times, I thought it was time to address it.
What happened to Petty’s dogs?
Originally, it was explained in the novel, but that part was cut. So here’s the explanation for you dog lovers out there.
Dekker called Uncle Curt from Motel 9 and asked him to go with a vet to Saw Pole to round up Sarx and Tesla and rehabilitate them. Uncle Curt of course complied. Once the dogs learned not to attack everyone who wasn’t Petty, they went to live in Wamego with Uncle Curt, Aunt Rita, China Cat Sunflower, and Bob, until Petty had a permanent residence where she could keep them.
