Most days, Millicent Nankivell believes she is a unicorn. Please don’t ever shatter her illusion.

As far back as she can remember, she has been creating stories that usually involved magic, mythical beasts, and creatures of her own invention. Not much has changed over the years. Well, except for also becoming a hopeless romantic as she got older.

If Millicent isn’t curled up in a dark corner with her laptop, sketch book, or reading a novel, you’ll probably find her out roaming local parks and gardens with her camera.

She lives in Melbourne, Australia, and will argue that it is the best Australian city until she’s blue in the face!

In theory it's written, but mostly I just glossed through to write some of the more exciting parts and now I need to stitch everything together to make it a more enjoyable read. I'll then begin the editing process and once I've revised it, I'll send it through to my editor! (While they're tearing their hair out trying to make it readable, I'll either be sinking my teeth into book 2 or working on a different novel I have in mind!)(less)

Now Available: The Gem of Orithian!

Yeah, that's right! I dropped The Gem of Orithian a day early! Decided it was time to let go and get it out there, because this book has tortured me for two years now! It's out! Huzzah! (You can buy it here)

I've also set up some details for book 3 on Goodreads (though I can't seem to add it to the series...): The Rising Storm and it's available for pre-order: Pre-order The Rising Storm!

It's due... Read more of this blog post »

“You're better off not knowing the truth. You're just as much of a monster as I am.”
Millicent Nankivell

“His welcome for her hadn’t exactly been friendly, nor had their relationship particularly thawed in the weeks she’d now been there.”
Millicent Nankivell, The Last King

“Mum’s gaze returned to mine and it was smiling warmly as she attempted to squeeze my hands. ‘Tell me darling,’ she whispered, ‘which one of those young men is my dear Belle’s son, Warren?’

‘Oh, you mean the son of that friend of yours you never once mentioned?’ I narrowed my eyes, but her smile remained serene. Realising I was being pointedly ignored I heaved a dramatic sigh before answering her. ‘The one with black hair, blue eyes, and kinda shady looking. Kind of like someone you would expect to actually set children on fire.”
Millicent Nankivell, The Last King

“The greatest changes in history have come when people were able to shake off what others told them to do.”
Richelle Mead, Bloodlines

“I know how devastated you must be to miss me, but leave a message, and I'll try to ease your agony”
Richelle Mead, Blood Promise

“We're going on a, um, windmill tour later this week."

If I'd wanted to shut them all up, I'd definitely succeeded. They all looked stunned.

Adrian spoke first. "I'm going to assume that means he's flying you to Amsterdam on his private jet. If so, I'd like to come along. But not for the windmills.”
Richelle Mead, The Golden Lily

“Cool',” said Adrian. “'Wind.’ I see what you did there, Sage. Pretty clever.”
Richelle Mead

“You’re killing me here, Sage!”
“I’m not doing anything.”
“Exactly my point.”
Richelle Mead, Bloodlines
