In my early 20’s I discovered stories by Guy De Maupassant. A late 18th century French poet and novelist. A madman, and in my humble opinion, master of the macabre who later committed suicide in a mental asylum. I was so fascinated with him, his style and his works, that I devoured anything I could find. Maupassant was, and still is, my inspiration in creating characters that speak volumes with dialogue.
My past life saw me owning and running a bookshop and various other retail businesses. Thirty-five years in the service industry gave me a unique insight into human nature which later lead me to study Social Anthropology at Deakin University.

C.S. Caspar Writer's block only happens to me when I get to a point in the story and I know it isn't going anywhere. The Characters don't talk and so I delete... go back to where the story was flowing or get rid of the chapter and start again. This usually resolves the problem.
