Top Ten Movies of 2024

Once again I forgot to update the old website.  It’s been a busy year preparing the next three books in the DYNASTY series for publication.  The plan is to release them in January, February, and March.  I will also be re-releasing my first published novel from 2016, IT’S A WONDERFUL DEATH from the Fortannis series, which I hope to do in December.

Anyway here’s a Top Ten Movies of 2024 (So Far!) List:

Deadpool & Wolverine – every second was pure joy.  So hilarious.  Such a great love l...

Dynasty: The Maxx Influence

Some background information on my fantasy YA series Dynasty

While the obvious surface inspiration is Lord of the Rings, there’s more than a little bit of The Maxx in there as well. I’m sure few people have ever heard of this. It was an independent comic book from 1993 that was briefly made into an MTV animated series in 1995. It’s technically a superhero story but it’s really about gender issues and trauma, something I as a twelve year old probably knew nothing about at the time....

Dynasty: The Lands of the East

Some background information on my fantasy YA series Dynasty… I shall be a little vague here because this is delving into sequel territory, but I’m going to talk in general terms about the other lands of Dynasty.

The East, the great continent of Axiya, has twice the landmass of the Western hemisphere and is home to many societies and dangers even outside of the Seven Tribes of the Horde.

The northeast sector of the continent is the home of the Baruk, the giant people. Stan...

Dynasty: The Lands of Bodo

Some background information on my fantasy YA series Dynasty… I shall be a little vague here because this is delving into sequel territory, but I’m going to talk in general terms about the other lands of Dynasty.

To the south of Caulador is the continent of Bodo. The powerful Bodokin live alongside their human slaves the helots here, but there are many areas even too dangerous for them. The northern forests of Delphi near the Turingian Pass and the isthmus are the domain of the tai...

Dynasty: The Lands of Caulador

Some background information on my fantasy YA series The Secret Apprentice…

The human kingdom of Caulador occupies the northern continent of the western hemisphere. The capital city of Kingston lies in the south-east corner nestled in a steep mountain valley. This range acts as a fence lining the eastern shore of the continent protecting them from invasion across the Middle Sea. Because of this, the Horde is unable to assail the continent at all and must strike Bodo in the south in...

Dynasty: The History

Some background information on my book The Secret Apprentice…

According to the major human religion, Osa the Magnificent created the world and the peoples upon it. He made the humans first and favored them above all others (this is where the Bodokin religion differs), then the Bodokin, then the rest.

This is the official religious dogma. The true origins of the peoples of the world are little known or understood. It is known humanity originated on the southern continent o...

Dynasty: The World

Some background information on my book The Secret Apprentice…

There are three major races on the western hemisphere of the world that will come to be known as Dynasty.

The humans are mainly based in the kingdom of Caulador on the northern continent. For the most part they have no special powers, though a few among their number are Champions born with varying superhuman abilities. Eighty years ago Caulador stood on the brink of annihilation at the hands of the Bodokin, but...

Dynasty: Damast and Pilo

Some character background for my novel The Secret Apprentice…

Lady Damast is the greatest warrior of the Bodokin, and that’s saying something.

The Bodokin are already larger, stronger, and tougher than humans. Their Champions even more so. Damast was born before the Manassi wizards openly arrived on the planet. Her mother died in childbirth, prophesying Damast would be un-killable save by “one of the Manassi”. This promise made little sense as Damast grew up and became th...
