Five Fall Favorites - Day Four
Perhaps it's a little early in the morning for bonfires... but still. The weather is changing (slower in these Southern states, but it's changing), and reading by the fire is nothing but cozy!
5 Favorite Western BooksI actually haven't read many western books that give me the western feel I'm looking for. I love the era, the genre, but when I think about "western books," it's hard for me to suddenly list five. But here are some that I enjoy nevertheless.
1) Everyday Life in the Wild West&n...

The Old Rugged Cross | Music Video
Another old favorite of mine... This hymn just calms me. It is so beautiful, so Christ-centered.

Five Fall Favorites - Day Two
Welcome to day two of our "Five Fall Favorites" party! Grab a blanket, get all cozy, as we discuss romance and historical reads. Don't forget -- I like to hear which books are your favorites in these genres too, so be sure to comment!
5 Favorite Romance BooksThis one is probably the hardest genre for me, as I am not exactly sure what classifies as "romance." If you've followed my review for any length of time, you probably noticed that I usually say something like, "It was great, but the roman...

Dear Commenters...
Just a quick post! In the past few months, I've noticed that several people have been commenting on different posts here. I can't express how much I appreciate your comments! I like to reply to them all personally, but alas! I rarely find time for that! So, dear commenters, this evening I HAD the time, and if you've commented on my blog in the last two months (especially if you've asked me a question), I have finally replied. Thanks for your patience! I appreciate you all so very much!

The Art and Craft of Writing Christian Fiction | Book Review
This was an amazing read, for me as a Christian author. It refreshed some things I knew and taught me some things I didn't know. To start off with, Mr. Gerke focused on the spiritual backbone of writing. I found this section very refreshing. Who are you writing for? What is your motive? Who do you hope to reach? From there, he covered many aspects from the approach to the craft of writing. One point that helped me was: how to think of yourself as a writer (you're more of a filmmaker than a cam...

Rebekah Morris | Author Interview
I've "seen" Rebekah around author circles the past year, but it wasn't until a few months ago that we really began "talking" to each other via email. It has been such a joy to get to know her better!
She recently released a new short story. You may see my review of it here.
About the StoryNewly married, Elizabeth Leffler moves with her husband to his farm in the foothills of the western mountains. Eager to be a part of the town and community, she is disappointed by the cool welcome she receives...

Scripture Designs 06
It's Monday! Think over the last week. Out of what you read in the Bible, what do you remember? What did you apply? A new week is before us! By God's help, let us look into His Word to continue in it an be a faithful doer."But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22
Elijah was discouraged and 40 days away from his last evident work for God. Yet God took him from "here" to reveal that He was still God, He was in control, He still had a plan. W...
