Previously on darklight: a traveller accompanied by the Ibid Bird, and Anélia, a railway guard from the moon, is on his way to meet Selena. They have reached the border of the Inverse Realms, where time flows backwards. The first episode is here.

I would have liked to tell you of the Turnaround,

where time’s pendulum pauses before its reversal,

but every memory of it had vanished from my mind,

I was very impressed with this collection--beauty, fluid expression, combined with depth and emotion. Some of it was hard going, the unflinching look at his heroin addiction, but I find it inspirational as I re-read it daily. Although the works are f ...more

Railsea is about trains (surprise!), and it's a y.a. book but I still enjoyed it. Miéville's Iron Council is also about trains. It's the opposite of y.a., a great read but not for the faint of stomach.

Some readers, including myself, really enjoy rail

I love Ian MacLeod's magical works, especially "The light Ages" and "The House of Storms." They're gentle and atmospheric, with an undertone of sorrow and loss.

The Silent One told me to read Paul Celan's poetry. I love it, enough to ignore the very rare bits of extraterrestrial English. I imagine translating it wasn't easy.

Probably my favourite Murakami novel at least so far, even though it dates back to 1985. I love its dream-like quality and the details of life as observed by the main character that so are gorgeously expressed.

I enjoyed it although a bit technical. Didn't really buy into the key idea of the book, but lots of interesting stuff.

This book is my standard reference for time travel. It's not an easy read but it discusses the various aspects of time's direction carefully and comprehensively, at least as far as anyone can in a single volume.
