Since the pandemic seems to be winding down, consider this my last pandemic project. (Might build a simple awning to go over it, but y’know.) Our bikes will no longer take up precious garage space.

Things are starting to open up in California and the boys have had their first vaccine dose, so we decided to attempt our first family lunch at a restaurant since the pandemic hit. (There’s a sushi joint near us that has tables outside that are all really well distanced.)
While there, the boys were misbehaving a lot. It was like trying to have a meal with two feral chimps. I finally barked at them, “Guys, you’re acting like you’ve never been to a restaurant before.”
Wyatt replied, “Well, it has been a year.”
He’s right. And it made me realize something terrifying. No one has really explored exactly how all of our kids — especially very young ones — will need to be re-socialized after all of this is over. A whole generation has spent an entire year with very little social interaction and therefore they haven’t been honing their social skills as much as they normally would.
Guys… this re-entry is going to be utter chaos.

Um… Has Fauci met people? Because a huge number of them are dishonest as fuuuuuuck.
Fauci expects the same people who, just this week, hoarded gasoline in bags to use the honor system regarding their vaccination status.
You have to show an I.D. to get into a bar, you have to show vaccination records to enroll your kids in school. A “covid vaccination passport,” the idea for which was floated by some officials and then kinda buried away, is not beyond reason nor a violation of anyone’s civil rights. And it’s the only way this will work.
But, to bet the success of a national public health policy change on the use of the honor system is just fucking stupid.
Hey, genius: you might be in favor of Gestapo saying, “Papers, please,” but the rest of us are not.

False equivalence is a logical fallacy in which an equivalence is drawn between two subjects based on flawed or false reasoning. This fallacy is categorized as a fallacy of inconsistency.
This can only apply when not talking about analogies, which is what I was making.
As far as who wrote what, that’s what’s known as a non sequitur. Also, logically speaking, “Papers, please” is more than likely older than Hollywood.

“yOu CaN’t SaY yOu WaNt A vAcCiNe PaSsPoRt BuT nOt A vOtEr I.D.”
First of all, I can say whatever the fuck I want. Get yourself used to that right motherfucking quick.
Second, comparing a vaccine passport to a voter I.D. is what’s commonly known as a “false equivalence fallacy.” You know why? Because the reasoning for and even definition of a vaccine passport is NOT FUCKING EQUIVALENT to a voter I.D.
One addresses a global health issue. The other is a poorly masked attempt at voter suppression. (Oh, you say it’s about preventing election fraud? Sure, Jan. Kinda weird how you’re suddenly worried about it right after one of the largest minority voter turnouts in modern history.)
And politicizing public health by trying to equate the two is goddamn stupid because you’re so busy pretending to be angry that you don’t see how your actions could lead to the actual death of you or someone you love. Or, fuck, even the death of a stranger. Why don’t you care about people you don’t know? Why do we have to point out that you shouldn’t have to meet someone or know someone to care about their health and well-being? Jesus fucking Christ.
Anywho, GTFO with your false equivalence bullshit.
It’s boring. Your argument is boring. You’re boring.
