Not to be outdone by Boone’s special effects wizardry, Wyatt coded his own version of the classic game Combat. (He’s continuing to update it, too.)

Half of American Moms and Dads Say Pandemic Has Permanently Affected the Way They Parent: Study
The pandemic has certainly altered our household dynamic and the way we parent. Here’s how it goes in my house:
My wife works full-time from an office we set up downstairs. My “office” is actually just a desk in our bedroom upstairs and that’s so…I can regularly check-in with the boys during their virtual school day, which they do in their bedrooms (also upstairs).
One advantage to this new set-up is my wife’s involvement. To be clear, she was always involved in parenting our kids, but before the quarantine she didn’t get home until evening and justifiably felt left out of some of the day-to-day stuff.
Now, if there’s an issue (like Boone goofing off when he should be paying attention in class or Wyatt needing assistance with his homework), we’re both there to help or one of us can hand a task off to the other. And we’ve tried to be more consistent with their chores.

Simply because of proximity, the amount of our involvement in our kids’ lives has gone way up. And while it’s really good that my wife gets more opportunities to be a part of the stuff she missed when working away from home, I don’t think this new dynamic is entirely a good thing for the boys.
Since the beginning of spring, we have been together 24/7. We always tried to teach them to be independent and to solve their own problems. I fear having us constantly around is fostering a dependency that will hobble them when the virus is eventually under control.

I’m sure when that day comes, it’ll be a rough re-entry for all of us.

Yes, the electoral college blows, but your vote still matters. Don’t ever forget that.
