My life is perfect. At least, I tell myself that all the time. I might not have a job that most people consider a career, but I work for myself, and it’s all legal. The best part, I don’t answer to anyone.
Until one high-paid well-known jackass attorney, Phillip Heart, put my business in jeopardy. If he doesn’t change his ways, he’s going to cause me to lose one of my regular clients. I thought attorneys were supposed to be smart. Why can’t he understand that I wasn’t loitering, I was working.
Talk about being surprised when Phillip shows up at my apartment with a change of attitude to save the day. I’m happy and so is my client. That should’ve been the last time we had seen each other. Yet our paths seem to cross continuously. Is it by chance or by fate?
I know better than to trust someone like him, gorgeous and arrogant. He’s used to getting what he wants, no matter the price. But I’m not for sale, and no one tells me what I can or can’t do. Now if only I can remind my heart about my rules.
