There are a lot of good ones out there. I think when it all comes down to it, Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe still have the most special place in my heart.

I love the struggles and challenges they faced in coming together, but that once they were a couple, they were simply magic together. Watching them over the years throughout the length of the series and then again from the perspective of their children was a beautiful thing. I'm pretty sure they fit the definition of the perfect couple, in my mind. ♥(less)

“Oh don’t be such a fuss pot,” said the fairy, “or I’ll call you Fussy Pants, instead of Silly Pants!”
Julie B. Campbell, Finding Manda's Sunshine

“Music had always had the ability to help ease my suffering. I sang a great deal at home. I sang to myself and to Lord Imery. Sometimes, I played the harp to accompany myself. Learning such a graceful instrument had filled my heart with pride. I loved the feeling of adding something beautiful to a room.

I looked down at my shaking hands. There were no melodies left in those withered fingers.”
Julie B. Campbell, Love at First Plight

“Sure, Manda knew that the tree wasn’t actually dead. Mrs. Evans, her teacher, taught her that some trees lose their leaves in the wintertime making them look dead, when they were only sleeping.

Sleeping or not, the big tree was dead to Manda.”
Julie B. Campbell, Finding Manda's Sunshine

“If you can't change your fate, change your attitude.”
Amy Tan

“Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes.”
Alexandre Dumas

“All generalizations are dangerous, even this one.”
Alexandre Dumas

“It is helpful to know the proper way to behave, so one can decide whether or not to be proper.”
Gail Carson Levine, Ella Enchanted

“The Writer's Oath

I promise solemnly:

1. to write as often and as much as I can,

2. to respect my writing self, and

3. to nurture the writing of others.

I accept these responsibilities and shall honor them always.”
