Finished, not perfect.

I’ve been seeing this phrase a lot on social media (Twitter, mostly) and, much as I related to this quote, I didn’t really know who to attribute it to until today. A quick Google search led me to Jake Parker, a Utah-based artist who has worked for big studios like Marvel, Disney Animation, and Warner Brothers Animationand who has apparently created the #inktober challenge. Check out this inspiring Finished, not perfect video below:

Two years ago, I came across a similar mantra when I joined...

Pinoy Movie x Book Match: Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang?

I had been planning this series of posts for a while now, but never really gotten around starting it because these past several months have been h e c t i c. But things are beginning to wind down for me now—I finished a manuscript! But that’s a story for later!—so I wanted to get the ball rolling on this new segment: Pinoy Movie x Book Match!

So basically, it’s like this: I introduce a Filipino movie I really like (it doesn’t matter if it’s old or new), tell you a little bit about it, and...

We came, we saw, we slumber partied

What is this—a #FeelsFest2019 post two weeks late?

Yep. That is exactly what it is.

I have a bunch of excuses as to why I haven’t written up this blog post yet, but I’ll save you all that irrelevant stuff and tell you all about MY FEELINGS! Actually, I already did. On Twitter.

Okay, let me start processing my #FeelsFest2019 thoughts and feelings with this: I don't think I have ever talked about how happy I am that a community such as #romanceclass exists and that I am a part of it as much as I have yesterday.

Bingo, anyone?

In 2015, author Edgar Calabia Samar (Janus Silang, Walong Diwata ng Pagkahulog) started an social media campaign called #BuwanNgMgaAkdangPinoy as part of the country’s celebration of Buwan ng Wika (National Language Month). The campaign encouraged more Filipino readers to share to the world the Filipino-authored works they have enjoyed or are currently enjoying. It resulted in an influx of tweets, bookstagrams, and other posts in social media platforms featuring a lot of titles, some of them...

Review | MOMOL Nights on iWant (+ Book Recommendations!)

I’ve been noticing how iWant has been producing new and original streaming content for the past year, but it’s only this year I’ve actually tried watching them because Bagman was really good. I’ve yet to try John en Martian too, but last week, I was able to watch their latest offering, MOMOL Nights, which starred Kim Molina and Kit Thompson.

Watch MOMOL Nights on iWant (Be warned: The following review contains spoilers. Scroll down at your own risk.)

iWant didn’t have to work hard to sell me...

Tara’s 2019 Mid-Year Theatre Round-Up

Most of the people who know me know I’m a sucker for a good theatre production. Thing is, I kind of suck at writing reviews lately, that most of my thoughts about the shows I’ve seen this year were only confined to Instagram posts. And since we’ve reached the halfway mark of 2019 (ALREADY?!?), I’ve decided to do a mid-year theatre round-up!

Here are the musicals and plays I’ve seen this year:
