Book Sale
This is a shameless plug for Storm Rising! For the next two weeks it's on special offer on all the online sites. Just 99p on Amazon UK, $0.99 on the Wild Rose Press website and Barnes and Noble, and $1.55 on Amazon US. (To name but a few).
With this being the Bank Holiday weekend, what better time to get some reading done! And if you get a copy now, you'll have plenty of time to read it before the sequel, Rhythm of Deceit comes out! That won't be long now either; anxiously awaiting the cover art!
Also, the more of you lovely people who buy a copy, the further up the Amazon chart it'll go, and that will help it get noticed. :-D
Right, shameless plug over....for now! If you do read it, I'd love to hear what you think.

Publication Day getting closer and Book Sale!
Publication day for Rhythm of Deceit is getting closer! Have agreed the wording for the blurb on the back, and now waiting for the galley edit copy. Can't wait to see the cover art.
But before that happens, Storm Rising has a sale scheduled for two weeks starting on Friday 22nd May. The price for the kindle version will be just 99cents on Amazon US and the equivalent amount of pence on Amazon UK! Currently somewhere around 65p I believe. So if you want to read it before the sequel comes out, then might be a good chance! :-)

Rhythm of Deceit coming soon!
Rhythm of Deceit, the second book in the NightHawk Series is coming soon from The Wild Rose Press! It's gone to the copy editor now, and hopefully in the next few weeks I'll hear more about the release date.
Very excited and can't believe it's happened so soon! For those who've read Storm Rising, it carries on the story of Abi and Gideon a couple of years later, and reveals some very interesting things from the past.
Keep watching here for updates.

Writing without distraction!
I think I must be the most easily distracted person on the planet! Even the fact that I'm writing this is a distraction. I'm supposed to be writing my new book and have set my self the target of 30k new words by the end of April, but I'm using all sorts of things to distract me from getting down to it. Already made cheese scones today, tweeted a bit, written this, and am now contemplating painting my nails! I mean, how can you write a good story unless your nails are a pretty colour. :-) It's not that I don't want to write - I do, and I have done some words today - but there are just so many distractions. I'm sitting here looking at a line of Easter eggs that need eating, a pile of books that need reading, and a kettle that needs boiling. Oh well, off to do one of them I guess!

Storm Rising Locations - Part Seven - Tunbridge Wells
Location number seven is Tunbridge Wells in Kent, somewhere I haven't visited myself.
I can't reveal anything about the reason for the location being in the book, because it would give too much of the story away to those who haven't yet read it. However, it does play a small, but significant part.

Visiting old haunts
Spent a lovely day revisiting old haunts from my childhood in Hampshire. Took my fourteen year old to see two of my old schools, in Winchester, and he was amazed they were still open! Not quite sure what he was expecting, but I think it may have involved slates and dunces hats. :-)
Didn't actually visit any of the Storm Rising locations today, but came pretty close. Location number seven coming up tomorrow.

Storm Rising Locations - Part Six - Newbury
Location number six is Newbury, in Berkshire, the town where Abi and Gideon grew up and went to school
This is not somewhere I know well, although I must have passed through it, and near it, many times. I just wanted a fairly normal, southern English suburban town, and Newbury seemed to fit the bill. It is quite centrally placed which made it easy for the characters to travel to other parts of the country.

Storm Rising Locations - Part Five - Lyndhurst
On Abi's sixteenth birthday, she, Gideon and Judy went to the New Forest for the day. They sat under the huge yew tree on Bolton's Bench, in Lyndhurst, and ate chocolate cake that Gideon had brought.
This is a location that I know really well. When I was tiny my grandmother lived just down the road from here and we spent many holidays in the New Forest. Lyndhurst was a particular favourite for the whole family and I can still remember going horse riding there when I was about four. The pony was ridiculously fat and my legs pretty much stuck out straight on either side!
It's a beautiful spot and absolutely teeming with New Forest ponies. Take care if you take a picnic there though, because the ponies are very friendly, and not above pinching the odd sandwich!

Storm Rising Locations - Part Four - New York
Location number four is another one I've never actually visited myself. Pretty much the only part of New York that appears in the book in any detail, is Central Park, the venue for NightHawk's last concert. I hope I made it sound believable, having researched it on the internet and used a very detailed map. I should be interested to hear from anyone who has visited the park whether or not I did a good job!
Just to show how pedantic I am, I actually managed to find out the weather for that particular day, so when Simon sits in the sun and enjoys his cappuccino and cheese-almond Danish, it really was an unseasonable 20 degrees, even though it was November.
I've wanted to visit New York for a long time, and would dearly love to jog, (well, maybe walk) around Central Park. Hopefully I'll get there one day.
