Rhythm of Deceit Locations - Part Four - Tangier

It's been a while since I wrote one of these, so I thought I should get back to it.  Location number four from Rhythm of Deceit is Tangier.  This is not a location I know at all, although I would love to visit it.  It only plays a very small, yet significant part in the story, involving Gideon's parents.  They are on a cruise and stop off at Tangier for a shopping trip.  Whilst there they unexpectedly discover some interesting information.  I won't say any more so as not to give anything away!   Picture Roger and Caroline go shopping in the Medina, the old walled city within Tangier, where Roger finally manages to haggle successfully.

New Contract!

Exciting day today.  Not only is Storm Rising having a Blog Tour starting today, I got a brilliant 5 Star pre-publication review for Rhythm of Deceit, AND I've just received the contract for the third book in The NightHawk series - Cobwebs in the Dark!   It never rains but it pours.  And it's doing that too!

Rhythm of Deceit Locations - Part Three - Boldre, New Forest

The third location used in Rhythm of Deceit, is Boldre in the New Forest, where Gideon's parents live.  I know this location pretty well and in fact when I was a child, we very nearly moved to a house in Boldre.  That one was thatched, so not really like the Hawk's house, but I've always had a soft spot for the area.  This is where Natasha likes to go riding with her grandfather, and where she keeps her pony.   Picture

Rhythm of Deceit Locations - Part Two - Luton

The second location in the series is Luton, in Bedfordshire.  This plays a part in the flashback story of Rhythm of Deceit, and is where Abi's mother grew up.  I won't say too much about what happens there, or it will give away the story.  This location is not one that I know well, although I have visited it in the dim and distant past.  It just seemed the perfect location for the story. Picture The picture above shows how Luton would have looked at the time when the flashback story is set, 1950.

Rhythm of Deceit Locations - Part One - Belgravia, London

A few months back I wrote a series of blog posts about the locations used in Storm Rising.  Since Rhythm of Deceit is due for publication in less than two weeks, I thought I'd do the same for that.

Some of the locations are the same for both books, namely, Rhossili, Sennen and Newbury, but there are some new ones as well.

I shall begin with Belgravia, in London, which is where Gideon's father owns a rather nice flat.   Abi and Gideon, and later on, Gideon and Charles (bass player with NightHawk), stay there for a while in Rhythm of Deceit.  Obviously I've been to London quite a few times, but I haven't ever spent much time in Belgravia, so I can't claim to know it well.  I think Roger (Gideon's father), must have bought the flat a long time ago, because looking at the prices of them these days, he'd never be able to afford it.  :-) Picture

The Allergic to E Challenge

Picture I was nominated to do The Allergic to E Challenge by Lizzy Baldwin.

The idea is to write a paragraph of four to six sentences, without using the letter E.  And that's not easy!  It was fun to try though.  So this is what I came up with!

It was a brisk, bright, cold January day.  I was sitting by a window, watching as snow was falling lightly, landing on icy ground.  It was drifting into mounds, building up against a wall.  Cradling my mug of hot cocoa in my hands, I caught sight of a small child who was busy making a snowman that was almost as big as him.

There we go then.  Not very exciting certainly, but not an E in sight!

I now nominate Liz Tipping, Kathryn Eastman and Abbey Macmunn to take the challenge.  Good luck!
