I came to fiction late in the day. Following a career in technology marketing I've been freelance since 2002 writing copy for every kind of business collateral. Come 2010, I was on the hunt for a new writing challenge and Singled Out - my debut psychological suspense novel - is the result.

Whilst penning my second novel, I still write - and blog - for marketing clients.

I'm so glad you've earmarked Singled Out to read, and I do hope you enjoy the story. When I was deciding on the setting for my first novel, I was surprised to realise how intrigued many people were by the idea of a singles holiday. I'd been on a few, so I understood how they worked, both logistically and psychologically. The singles holiday in Singled Out is a bit of a hybrid of the different brands of singles holidays I've been on, but the story at its heart - gritty and dark as it is - is entirely fictional!

As for writing about computer dating, it's another interesting area, indeed. I have a few experiences of my own, but they are from around 12-15 years ago and I'm told things are very different now - with internet dating much mre widely accepted by all age groups. Many people have written amusingly about their internet dating experiences, but there is certainly fodder for a good and dark psychological story within the internet dating concept!

One of the problems for women arriving on the modern dating scene, often after long relationships, in their 50's and older, is that the world is a very different place from when they were last dating - and the internet is a deceptive environment. It makes you feel as if you know a person better than you do; a stranger becomes an intimate friend, before you've even met. Certain people know how to take advantage of this - and not in a good way.

Thanks for connecting on Goodreads, and I really hope you enjoy Singled Out. But don't let it make you afraid of singles holidays - I've enjoyed some great singles holidays in years gone by. :)(less)
