Poet, Painter and Musician T. Byron Kelly has been working as an active performance artist in the South Western Virginia area (Appalachia) for over three decades and has generations of family from West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia.

1987

When I began writing back in 1987 I did not have a computer and I hand wrote all of my poems in countless notebooks. It has taken several decades to archive all of it but it is slowly being done @ http://projectendofdays.com

Let me first note that I am not a reader of fiction ordinarily, and that I find most criticism of any kind to be, as Rilke noted, either "partisan views or clever quibblings". J. Russell Rose has written a fine book. In Search Of Himself is the story ...more

The human spirit is indeed under attack and is being "suffocated" by a world (according to Huston Smith) that is "dominated by materialism, consumerism, educational elitism, and government and legal systems without morality". Bishop Sigrist writes as ...more

I must admit that I still agree with Rilke, who instructs us to; "read as little as possible of aesthetic criticism" and I still find that many reviews are either "partisan views or clever quibblings". I met Rose at the first Solitude Poetry event at ...more

If the Poet is "the bearer of human longing" as Hesse wrote, then poetry should be an exploration of that Solitary fact. If we think about the need for a deliverance from the "limited ways" of our emotion and perception as Jim Morrison considered, th ...more
