Call For Submissions

The 40 Below Project is seeking unpublished submissions of short fiction, poetry, artwork, and creative non-fiction for an upcoming print anthology to be released in 2013. We are looking for works about or inspired by winter in Edmonton. We are actively searching for works from writers living in Edmonton or the surrounding area. Works from other writers may also be considered as long as the theme is upheld.

What we are looking for:

Short Fiction: maximum 3000 words. Any genre will do, as long...

Interesting Stat

When polled, 4 out of 5 division 1 classes chose to write about a character whose main goal is to find a place to sleep…interestingly enough, this is the same stat for 4 out of 5 very tired grownups. [image error]

!

Reading an inspirational poster & among the “smile” “laugh” and “do something nice for yourself every day” suggestions to live longer, I see “do everything to excess.”

**cue needle scratch**

Do everything to excess? I’m pretty sure that when you do that, you risk things like heart disease, diabetes, certain types of cancer which means a life on medication…I read to the bottom and it’s a pharmaceutical company that’s designed the poster.

Well played, drug company, well played.
