This is a group shot of all the senior missionaries at the Missionary Training Center that arrived the week first week of January 2023. This group of 161 is the largest senior group since COVID. Our training here is largely centered on Jesus Christ and how we can spread his love to all the world. There are also 1100 junior missionaries here. What a joy is has been to see the beautiful faces of these 18 and 19 year old young men and women full of light and love, eager to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many are also learning a foreign language so they can speak to the people they teach in their own language. What is the incentive for all of us to leave our busy lives and family behind and go out into the world at our own expense? We love our Savior Jesus Christ and want to share his love.
Ross and I will be serving in the California Oakland/San Francisco Mission as an office couple. That means we will serve in the mission office. I will be the mission secretary and Ross will assist the Mission President as his executive secretary and as the housing coordinator. This means we will be able to learn to know and love all the missionaries and many of the wonderful people in the Bay area.
Before we can become missionaries, we are set apart by our Stake President as full-time missionaries. I have been looking forward to this day all my life and thank God for this wonderful opportunity.

We have arrived in Oakland and have been training for our roles as a mission office couple. I am the mission office secretary and my husband is managing housing for 160 young men and women and twenty four senior senior mission couples who have the faith and courage to go anywhere in the world and do whatever they are called to do. Our mission office is right across the street from the beautiful Oakland Temple with fresh flowers and flowing fountains year round. It is such a blessing to serve and help bring souls to Christ.

I was asked to contribute a story to this book that was recently published. I can't wait to read ALL the stories in this book and give it to my granddaughters!
