Jon L. Lellenberg is the representative of Conan Doyle Estate Ltd, successor to the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's daughter and heir, Dame Jean Conan Doyle. Copyright in Conan Doyle's published work came back into UK copyright from 1996 to 2000 but has now expired (except for a few writings first published posthumously). In the USA, copyright is claimed for works first published between 1923 and 2002. Unpublished works by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are in the public domain in the USA but not in the UK. From 2010, UK enquiries will be dealt with by United Agents.
