(Remember he famously never got a driver’s license because he thought cars were beyond dangerous.)

At the same time, I also agree with Gene Roddenberry’s very optimistic outlook about the future of humanity. We’ve come a long way in a few thousand years, even though it might not look that way all the time. Harnessing the positive aspects technology—and taming the negative ones—will likely play a large part in making that optimistic outlook a reality. (less)
