Reviews Are Up Over at Green Man

A James Knapp book I actually really liked.
A high-profile new release that was kind of disappointing
And a Tom Sniegoski that was sadly bereft of Devil Dinosaur

Someone set the Surreal-o-Matic to "Overload" Tonight

Consider:

I had nine things I can't talk about happen at work today.
Melinda's My Little Ponies are apparently moving of their own accord.
There is an unexplained Everclear CD in my office closet.
and Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber just crashed my Firefox.

Strange days indeed. Most peculiar, mama*.

*It's a John Lennon reference, people. Honest.

Upcoming Book Signing

This Sunday at 2 PM I'll be doing a signing at McIntyre's Fine Books in Pittsboro, NC, just outside of the Triangle area. Yes, I know it's Mother's Day - then again, hopefully my mom will be there, so you can commiserate with her about what a terribly thoughtless son she has, setting up a signing on a day like that. (I kid, I kid - it's actually a huge thrill for me to have my folks at a book signing, so they can see the end product of all those hours I spent in my room as a kid, nose buried ...

Things to do in London While Stranded

1 - Go to a pub.
2 - Get interviewed by BBC radio whilst at the pub.

I make no promises as to the content of the interview. After all, it was at a pub.

I Am Wily

The issue of Wily Writers I edited has just gone live. Big thanks to Wily-in-Chief Angel McCoy for trusting me with the editorial reins for a month, and for being willing to run with my suggested theme of "alienation".

(No, no, not like that. Put the emo music and the Giger riffs down, and back away slowly).

In any case, the first story, Shelly Li's "Outsourced" is now live. Check it out here.

Tomorrow at 3 PM EST...

...it looks like BBC World Service will be running a piece on Stranded , the magazine Andrew Losowsky put together out of the experiences of the volcano-delayed. My understanding is that included in that piece will be an excerpt of something I wrote for the magazine, a short fiction piece called "Losing Altitude". So if you've got your ears on for the World Service, check it out.

(Big thanks to Andrew Losowsky for welcoming me into the project, and to Susan O'Connor for pointing me at it in the...

The Road Is Clear!

No volcanoes, ash clouds, sasquatch invasions, or freakouts by steroid-crazed Carolina Panthers punters, so I'm off to Charlotte for tonight's book signing at Park Road Books!
