A few of my favorite things: My family and my dear, dear friends;
My addictions/vices: Books; wine...white zin or pinot grigio; coffee...an every morning must have; popcorn
What I do when I'm not writing: I read or I might be working at the local Starbucks, hanging out with the above-referenced friends and family; bicycling around my neighborhood; taking a nap.
I'm originally from Southwest Missouri, but I grew up in a bunch of tiny towns in Illinois and Idaho before I arrived in Florida where I currently reside. Want to know more about me? Read my blogs which you can access through my web site.

Hider in the House

Thomas grinned. She liked his grin. A little too much. “No, you didn’t.”

She couldn’t help but smile back. In the interest of partial honesty, she said, “I did snoop through your mail, though.”

“That couldn’t have been too interesting.” He scooted back his chair. “So, what’s your plan?”

She watched him carry his plate and mug to the sink. She...

I didn't think I'd like this book because it starts out a bit darker and grittier than what I normally read. But the plot did not go where I expected it to go and I'm glad I stuck with it. Definitely a page turner.

Wish You Were Here by Stewart O'Nan
"
Have you ever spent a week in the summer with extended family? As a child it is non-stop fun with cousins and outdoor activities. As a teenager it is mostly a crushing bore. As adults, it is more work than vacation: the meals, the clean up, the e..." Read more of this review »

I can't rate this book. I scanned over a lot of what I felt were excessive descriptive passages, but I did finish it. I'm left feeling ambivalent. Is this literary fiction? I'm not sure I quite got the point of the story and not quite sure why the au ...more
