Bloopers, Brothers, Brazilians, and Boyfriends

So I didn't see any movies at all this weekend—except Rachel Getting Married, but that was on Starz or HBO or something, and it's been out forever, so that doesn't count.

I have to say, if Kim (Anne Hathaway's character) was my sister, not only would I NOT have invited her to my wedding, I would have eloped.

(Special note: I did elope, and I'm not even related to her.)

But I digress.

Anyway, I did post some new movies of MINE to my YouTube channel (which I think should sort of count as going t...

Sandra Bullock Divorce Custody Battle!

NEW MOON!!! AHHHH!!!!

Ha, no, I didn't go to New Moon last night at 12:01. I was doing what I'm always doing lately at 12:01AM: waiting for my Ambien to kick in and going, "Why don't they have Say Yes To The Dress on On Demand?"

If you're doing NaNoWriMo right now, you were probably doing the same thing at 12:01AM last night (unless you were actually working on your book. But I'm more of a 9-5er. Well, 10-6er, let's be honest).

November is a cruel month to writers! We have so many...

2012–Best Movie of All Time?

I went to see 2012 over the weekend.

As a disaster movie junkie—seriously, I LOVE a movie in which human beings are (pretend) killed by any sort of natural disaster, be it:

–Asteroids hurtling down from space.

–F5 tornadoes coming at them from the plains.

–Gigantic tsunamis barreling down upon them from the sea.

I have seen every disaster movie ever made, including the really bad made-for-TV ones.

I just love them so much!

So I just couldn't wait for 2012, in which every natural disaster you...

Dear Clifford

I'm back from the Miami Book Festival. Did you miss me?

I missed you. Except for those of you I saw at the fair. Which was AWESOME, by the way. I got to meet so many fantastic readers (as well as authors Sue Corbett, Peter Lerangis, and Alicia Thompson, among many others).

I know all you care about though is did I get to meet any HUGE CELEBRITIES (such as Al Gore, or the Kardashian sisters, who have their own store right there on South Beach, where I was staying).

Well, the truth is, I...

Giada/Mercy/Glee/Miami

I'm leaving now for Miami for my event tomorrow, and I'm so excited because I get to stay in a fancy hotel in South Beach instead of my house (which still smells like a rotting mouse corpse. How can such a small thing take so long to decompose?), eat room service, and….

…I get to see all of YOU!

There are, of course, a few pieces of business to take care of before I go:

First of all, I just found this website devoted to romantic suspense author Mary Stewart. How cool is this? It's been...

Meg's Mail Bag

It's perfect stay-indoors weather here because of pesky Tropical Storm Ida–windy and rainy, with palm fronds flying everywhere!

And while I hope it clears up in time for the book fair in Miami this weekend, it's kind of a good opportunity for us to dip into Meg's Mail Bag, since it's been a while.

So let's take the plunge!

My best friend is really SO lucky. The Galera Record (who publishes your books here in Brazil) is raffling two books (Of course, Yours).

Now, guess what? She wins!

I...

Don't Be a Book Licker!

It was an exciting weekend here in Casa Cabot. Why?

Well, since I'm going to be speaking and signing at the Miami Book Festival this coming Saturday (the fair starts TODAY! Click here to see all the amazing authors who are going to be there!) the Miami Herald asked me for some advice for girls.

My response was printed online and in the paper (I think. I don't get the Miami Herald so I didn't actually see it)!

The article is about how, by craftily disguising my books to look as if they're m...

The Watchmen

I finally saw the movie of The Watchmen!

I'd tried to read the graphic novel, but somehow I could never finish it. I have no idea why. The book has everything…sex, naked people, romance, sex, mystery, pirates (there were no pirates in the movie)!

I think I got bogged down with the pirates.

So I was excited to watch the movie and see how it all turned out…also to see if the big naked blue guy ever put on any pants.

He did, but only briefly. He found them binding, I guess. I know the feeling...

New in November….

It's November….

And you know what that means!

No, not pumpkin pie! (Although it means that, too!)

It means, among other things….

The Glee cast album is out!

Finally! I thought I was going to go crazy if I didn't get that cast version of Bust a Move.

But now I can relax.

November is also the month when controversial end-of-the-world movie blockbuster 2012 comes out!

I so want to see the White House underwater (no offense to the current residents…The White House looked totally cute on a

Ghost Story

This is truly a creepy Halloween. Just in time for the spookiest night of the year, a rodent (I pray that it is a rodent and not a larger mammal, such as a human being) crawled into a wall of our house and….

Died.

And we cannot find its body.

Do you want to know what a rotting corpse smells like? A real rotting corpse?

Come to my house!

(Or better yet, don't, unless you love the smell of death and Glade plug-ins.)

We should use the opportunity to set up our own haunted house.

But instead, we...
