Sometimes I didn't deal well with it at all. Shame on me. I joined a writer's group (RWA local chapter) I went to writing conventions (although not for a while) I read another book, I wrote short stories (some of which I'll put on Amazon when I get up the courage) I try to write in my blog (I'm reinstating my previous blog and going at it again) I read Anne Bird's "Bird by Bird" (for some reason this books puts me back to writing) I'll talk to other writers.

My publisher is putting out a .99cent promotion from Nov 28 8am until Nov 30 8 am. For all LSP Digital's electronic books. That's given me inspiration to get my tail down into writing position and finish Legacy. (less)

The answer lies in the day, time of day, time of year, degree of mood. But, I think, being a novelist I can make stuff up. I can go to anywhere I like, if not physically, through books, photographs, the Internet and discover new terrain. You can get into people's heads, go into their homes. Build imaginary doll houses to place them. Build wardrobes for your characters. Have casting sessions (online--I usually use actors and actresses, but anyone with the kind of face and body you want) You can interview them like a reporter might do.

So, I'd say, wearing so many different hats: story teller, wardrobe mistress, director, actor, travel agent, house decorator, and ruining make-believe people's lives and putting them back together again.

Roger Cottrell Hi Patricia,
Thanks for the friendship on Goodreads,
ROGER

Rosemary How wonderful that your dogs and horses inspire your writing! Thanks for the invitation.

Sundang Saputra Hi Pat.. thanks 4 invite me

Dianne Ascroft Thanks for adding me to your friends. I hope your collies don't try to lie across you as you write like my cat used to do! I read out in the field with my goats and that can be hazardous to the pages of the book - have to keep it held high to avoid losing pages...
