In today’s New York Times, I offer some commentary on the perils of being too consumed by the antics of the 1% on reality TV shows. While I grew up fascinated by the drama and diamonds on the hit show Dynasty, it was obviously fiction. Today, a lack of a clear line between what is real and what is not can distort viewers’ perception of what is real wealth and what is not – especially young adults.
