I worked for many years as a technical writing, writing about subjects I did not care about or that were mind-numbing. If I could power through a software user guide, I can crank out anything. Even if the writing is sub par, if I press long enough, I usually find my rhythm and break the block. The hardest part for me is getting the right idea to get started or covering the boring connective tissue between plot points. It feels like there is a constant swarm of emotion and experience and words inside me. The only way to survive it somewhat sane is to vent it. I vent it through writing. The Rest Will Come by Christina Bergling
"What a way to start out a book. The main character, Emma, is gouging out the eyes of her date. The best part was when her hand got stuck and she used her high heel to push on the dead guy's body and fell on her ass. Instantly, I was a fan of Emma'..." Read more of this review »
