Peter Poundâs concept design for Dark CityÂ
I recently rewatched this film for the first time since 1997. Didnât rate it at all at the time, mainly because of the god awful info dump at the start. The directorâs cut has completely turned me around. Itâs still a film that outreaches its ambitions, but there are moments of Gilliam-esque brilliance, a wonderful pulpy aesthetic, and the sense of something deeper and scarier shifting beneath the surface.

THE DRESSMAKER is out on DVD this week. To celebrate, here’s a brand new video in which I chat to star Hugo Weaving. One question goes answered: Who has the wildest hair of all?
